    I am new to this type of control valve. Gas had been turned off in the house and they could not get the water heater to light. Your video was what I needed to get it to light. Thank you very much...

    Oh thank you thank you thank you, you made a very bad day a lot less bad. woke up today and somebody sideswiped my car, my dryer is out well... it's louder than a jackhammer. Then I went to wash some dishes and there was no hot water, I was thinking great! found this video and I don't have to replace my water heater at least. 🙏

    Thank you!! Fixed my issue so l got afew questions? Is this something to indicate failure? Just out of warranty purchased 4/24/2018. Also been curious for awhile so what powers the blinking LED light?? A battery? Replacement needed? Lifespan if a battery?

      I don’t think it indicates a mechanical issue, however, I’m not an expert on water heaters. The blinking light is powered by the thermopile that is located near the pilot light. Once it’s heated by the pilot light, it converts that heat to electricity. Thanks for commenting!

    Hi Stephen thanks for the vid it helped alot. I noticed i had 9 blinks... its a chamber sensor warning, do you know what that means? I did the reset and it returned to blue and reignited. I am just curious as to what it is that messed up. I got mine in 2022 october.

      @@rvalle11 I think that means the sensor is going bad and needs replaced. I have never encountered this issue, but I would think that your water heater should still be under warranty. I would call customer service and ask them what you should do. Thanks for commenting!

    My heater can show red or blue indicator lights. I was able to re-light the pilot using your instructions and then the light flashed blue, once every second or so. I assume this means everything is OK?

      @@DiyGuy50 Yes, it's Honeywell. Similar to yours except the status light can flash red or blue. The info card says flashing blue means normal.

    What’s it mean if I can light the pilot light, pilot light stays on till I remove finger from pilot light knob and the blinking light never comes on? Ty!

      I’m not an expert on this but it may be that the thermopile or thermocouple is bad. Have you tried holding the pilot button for 30 seconds after the pilot lights?

    After waiting for 10seconds, I pressed the pilot button in and had to click the ignition button every second for 30 seconds until the light started to flick and then I turned to “hot” and it reset

      @@CougarsSaluki Yes. Sometimes you have to keep hitting the igniter until it lights. I got lucky and the pilot lit on the first click. You did it correctly! Good job!

    I did all that and in the last step when you turned it to hot, it clicks but the flame stays the same and does not increase. It is a new unit. Any ideas what the issue is?

      @@mariogallardomusic I’m sorry I don’t. If the burner doesn’t light there’s something else wrong. It should be under warranty so I would call the place you purchased it from.

    I cant even get my status light to turn on no matter how many times I hit the ignite button while holding pilot down...I may have a different issue, maybe a bad igntitor box?

      Yes. If your pilot doesn’t light, you’re either not getting a spark or gas and it must be another issue.

      @@noneofus6381 It may be something else. There are a number of reasons that you can’t light the pilot.

      @@KazzamGameHaven The status light won’t come on until the pilot lights. If you’re following the directions on your gas valve to re-light the pilot and it doesn’t light, you need to call a professional.

      @@DiyGuy50 I ended up getting mine lit. Under the panel cover you take off to see if the pilot light is lit to the right theres 2 wires. I disconnected both of those and plugged them back in. Water heater started right up no problems after that!

      @@freshtelovision If your pilot doesn’t light, there is something else wrong. It could be that the igniter isn’t working, the thermocouple is bad.., so you better call a plumber.

    You're supposed to look in the sight glass for the pilot to light. Once lit you don't need to hit the ignitor anymore. You continue to hold the pilot button down until the light starts to flash. Once it's flashing that means the thermocouple is warmed and the burner is ready to light.

      @@joebojanic1905 That is correct. I heard the pilot light after the first press of the igniter. But, if you release the control button prematurely, the pilot goes out because the thermocouple hasn’t got hot. Thanks for sharing.

      @@blissfullycoiled1114 when you press the control button it releases gas and pressing the ignitor repeatedly should light the pilot. If it doesn’t, turn the control to off and call an expert.
